August 2017
Dear Friend,
I trust you had a good summer, and, if you were able to get away on holiday, that you have returned refreshed and renewed. And now, of course, the 'winter's work' beckons (as an old Christian friend used to say!). We are delighted to work with local churches and fellowships to help resource them in this work, offering a number of facilities and special offers to help with this - please see our website for further details HERE! In particular, I would mention the facilities for small groups - the opportunity to call in and look at the studies, take samples on a 'Sale or Return' basis to review and some special deals from a number of publishers - please ask for details!
'Keswick in Motherwell', taking place this year in Dalziel St Andrews Church, is one of my highlights of the year, and it is now rapidly approaching on Thursday 14th,Friday 15th & Saturday 16th September. We are supporting this event again with some special offers at the Bookstall - we look forward to seeing you! The main speakers this year are Paul Mallard and David Gibb- if you 'click' onto the image, you'll be taken to the event Facebook page, and this will be updated with further details as time goes on. We have just heard that Paul will be speaking on the Life of Elijah from 1 Kings 17-19 - sounds fascinating!
You will (hopefully) be aware that your purchases through The GLO Bookshop help support the wider mission work of GLO, and, as I write, various members of the GLO 'family' are gathering for their yearly conference in Motherwell - a time for encouragement, networking and challenge. We would appreciate your prayers for these workers, often involved in church planting in lonely & difficult circumstances. Specific prayer information is available on request - please get in touch!
With our grateful thanks for your interest and support,
Andrew

Featured Book- 'A Chance to Die: Amy Carmichael' HB by Elisabeth Elliot
'A Chance to Die' is a vibrant portrayal of Amy Carmichael, an Irish missionary and writer who spent fifty-three years in south India.
There she became known as 'Amma,' or 'mother,' as she founded the Dohnavur Fellowship, a refuge for underprivileged children.
Amy's life of obedience and courage stands as a model for all who claim the name of Christ. She was a woman with desires and dreams, faults and fears, who gave her life unconditionally to serve her Master. This lovely new hardback edition
brings 'Amma' to life through inspiring photos and compelling biographical narrative. The wife of Jim Elliot, Elisabeth Elliot urges readers to examine the depths of their own commitment to Christ.

Featured media product- 'Do You Believe?' DVD
A dozen different souls, all moving in different directions, all longing for something more. As their lives unexpectedly intersect, they each are about to discover there is power in the Cross of Christ even if they don't believe it yet.....
Inspiring their journey & fuelling their conviction is Pastor Matt, who, after witnessing the visible faith of an old street-corner preacher, is reminded that true belief always requires action. His response ignites a faith-fueled journey that powerfully impacts everyone it touches in ways that only God could orchestrate.
This stirring new film is from the creators of 'God's Not Dead'.
PS- Sometimes, I'm not a great fan of 'Christian films', but this one is actually very good - I found it quite gripping, and the presence of Cybill Shepherd & Lee Majors is certainly a big bonus!
Format: Region 0 DVD. Released in 2017 by Pure Flix Entertainment. Certificate 12 Running time 115 minutes
