March 2015

Dear Friend,

The grounds around the GLO Centre are springing into life as the days lengthen, and the air becomes at least a bit warmer! I would hesitate to say Spring has sprung, but at least there are positive signs. As I write, there are only three weeks to Easter, and we still have our great 33% off Easter books for children offer available - please click HERE to be taken to the list of books on our website. These are ideal as gifts for schools, toddlers groups - or as a healthy alternative to the chocolate Easter Egg for your own children & grandchildren.....!

Real Easter EggAlternatively, if you would LIKE a chocolate Easter Egg, we are delighted to be official stockists for the Meaningful Chocolate Company's range of 'Real Easter Eggs'. The' Real Easter Egg' is the first and only Fairtrade chocolate egg to explain the meaning of Easter. It's a fun and unique way to share the Easter story. This year there is a free activity pack in the box which includes the Easter story, activity poster, and a sticker set. The resurrection text from Mark can also be found inside the lid.

The highly popular 125g Fairtrade Easter Egg at £3.99 is selling well, as is the Dark Chocolate Egg at £5.50, and the Premium Egg at £9.99 will be a real treat for that premium person in your life......!

GLO 40th AnniversaryAs indicated in our last Newsletter, 2015 is the 40th anniversary of GLO Europe's first full year of operation. The ministry was begun by Colin Tilsley in the early 70s and after 40 years of proving God's goodness and faithfulness we are still going strong and fully committed to equipping, inspiring and sending a new generation of witnesses. Please join us this year as we mark this special anniversary with a special Evening of Thanksgiving on Sunday 10th May at 8.00pm in the Tilsley Auditorium.

Stephen McQuoid, General Director, is writing a new book to record God's goodness over the last 40 years and we would ask you to join us by sharing your memories and photos of your own personal connection with GLO on the GLO Europe 40th Anniversary Facebook page - click on the '40' to be taken there!

The GLO Centre is hosting a special preview of the new 'Left Behind' feature film, starring Nicholas Cage. The film will be shown in the Tilsley Auditorium on Saturday 28th March at 7.30pm. Tickets are £6 each, and can be obtained from The GLO Bookshop.

As always, we thank you for your interest and support.

Andrew

Filthy RichFeatured title - 'Filthy Rich' PB - Manoj Raithatha

Manoj Raithatha had it all. A booming property business, a picture-book family, and the power to shape his destiny. His was a life to envy.

Then his professional and personal worlds were shattered. The 2008 financial crisis devastated his business and a sudden illness threatened his sons life. His hollow foundations exposed, Manoj found himself utterly dependent on the prayers of others and the help of a previously unknown God. What happened next would forever change his life and the lives of all his family. Morally bankrupted by greed and selfishness, Manoj would have to build his life and marriage anew with different foundations.

"Manoj has become not only a colleague but a friend. Filthy Rich provides us with an amazingly encouraging account of a life turned around by a powerful encounter with Jesus. This is a book to read and enjoy but then to give away to a friend or neighbour and pray it will impact them."

Steve Clifford, General Director, Evangelical Alliance

Why We PrayFeatured title - 'Why We Pray' PB - William Philip

Prayer is foundational to the Christian life, but many people don't understand it. What is it for? How does it work? Why do we do it? This short and accessible book explains what prayer is, why it exists and how it can encourage us in our life of faith.

Written by well-known local pastor, Willie Philip, this book shows the beenfit of many years of teaching and counselling experience. Why We Pray doesn't simply tell readers why they should pray, but instead focuses on four blessing-filled reasons that will help us want to pray. Rather than feeling discouraged and disheartened by our inconsistency in prayer, we feel reinvigorated to approach God with confidence and joy, delighted by the privilege of talking directly to our heavenly Father.

"Combines clarity and brevity ... I commend this book enthusiastically." from the foreword by Alistair Begg.
