The work began in Viewpark in 1987 when a team of 4 GLO full time workers
moved into the estate.
The church is well established and has around 40 attenders. The atmosphere
is informal and we aim to have a structure that builds up each individual -
eg the children are not just the church of tomorrow. A good number of adults
are now involved in a wide variety of ministries including 'Tots and Toys'
toddler group, youth work, craft groups and church based work.
The church has moved to new premises in Bellshill in 2005 where there are
many new opportunities for outreach. We have made significant community links
and have gained favour with the local population. A range of new activities
have begun from September 2005 We have always benefitted from the
involvement of GLO summer teams and no doubt they will prove even more
significant in our new location.
Al and Lynsey Burt joined the work with Liberty Community Church in October 2006
on a part-time basis. They have established 2 after schools clubs in 2 different schools
and help support and develop other existing work in the church.
Our aims are to reach out to our community with the gospel in a way that is
relevant in order to see people coming to faith and to encourage Christians
toward maturity and ministry.
