Date: 18th - 30th June 2008
Team Leader: Yannick Ollivier, Alan Monclair

Location:
Quimper has a population of 85000 and is the administrative capital of Finistere. It is the most westerly department of Brittany. Its region is very popular with tourists as its many beaches and quaint fishing villages. Each summer many of these villages hold their own festivals, as traditional music and dancing are very popular. It is a region steeped in tradition and folklore.

Most people would be of traditional catholic backgrounds, although there are an increasing number of Muslims. Welsh missionaries first evangelized this region in the late 1800’s with some success. However there is now little evidence left of their work.

The Quimper fellowship began in September 2005, originally meeting in people’s homes, it now meets each Sunday in a local hotel. There is a regular attendance of 15, including children.

Programme:
A typical day will start with a Team Time of worship, Bible study and prayer, followed by Literature Distribution and a time for preparation for Church activities and special evenings. There will also be plenty of time to visit the region, spend time on the beach, and even walk to the most westerly point in France!
