Team: Marsciano, Italy Date: 5th - 13th July 2008 Team Leader: Erion & Vicky Pici Cost: £70 / 100 euro(to be paid in euro to the Team leader at the beginning of the team) Location: Marsciano is about 30k south of Perugia in central Italy and has a population of just over 17000, including the surrounding villages. It is a church plant, the only one in the town, with up to 20 people currently attending made up of new Christians and those who have not gone to church for a long time! The locals swing between indifference to hostility and are known for being very reserved. Nevertheless there is some open-ness to the gospel and curiosity especially towards foreigners. Catholicism is the dominant religion although even the Catholic Church considers Umbria, the region where Marsciano is found, a mission field due to their disinterest in spiritual things. Therefore, the Catholicism would be mainly cultural. Programme: *The team will be assisting the local church in evangelism. *This will be done through different outreach events including special evenings in the church, visits to families, participation in church activities and open airs. *There will also be some children’s work during the days. *Each afternoon there will be a Team Time of bible study, prayer and praise time and a day off!
