Team: Bellshill/Viewpark, Scotland Date: 1st - 10th August 2008 Team Leader: Colin MacPhie Cost: £65 (to be paid in sterling to the Team leader at the beginning of the team) Location: We are making inroads into the local community of Orbiston where we moved to from Viewpark in 2005. Much of the existing work will continue in Viewpark though recently we have begun children and youth work as well as being involved in after school clubs in two of the local Primary schools. Since September 1988 various methods have been used to share the Good News, with friendship as the key. Several children, young people and adults have come to faith in Christ. There are 35 church members. The children's and youth work have given us a high profile and acceptance in the Viewpark community. The new "Church" is known as Liberty Community Church. Previous missions have been a tremendous boost to new Christians, team morale and to the continuing work as it brings many opportunities to communicate faith in a personal way. This is both challenging and enjoyable. This year's team will be crucial in helping us to develop our links with the local community. Programme: *Children's and young people’s Outreach, Building on friendships with young people and parents, Adult Outreach events. Street witness and open airs, door to door. *Special event and church services. *Come prepared to help in some way - story telling, giving your testimony, doing the team epilogue, helping with the music, etc.
